Hill experiences “Sin City”

Rick Ware Racing (RWR) driver Timmy Hill went into Las Vegas with stars in his eyes. The 18 year-old visited the bright lights of Sin City not to gamble or cut lose but to continue his progression in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

Hill’s first ever 1.5 mile tri-oval was interesting considering he has never raced at a track that carried that much speed. Timmy qualified the car in the 35th position and ran a steady race behind his teammate Carl Long in the #41.

“The mile and half tracks are a little tricky for a short track guy like myself. It seems you’re in the gas forever down the back stretch and it plays mind games with you,” Hill stated.

Hill worked himself up to the 14th position during a green flag run but fell back with tires that just didn’t suit the young driver.

“We battled and learned today. We will take the 24th place finish as a career high and build on it.” Hill will now focus on the shortest track on the circuit, Bristol.

“I am looking forward to Bristol. It is a staple in our sport and a honor to finally get to race there!”
