Daytona 2019 Summary

Rick Ware Racing driver BJ McLeod finished 19th in the 61st running of the Great American Race at Dayotona International Speedway on Sunday.  The top 20 finish is the third in a row at Daytona International Speedway for the RWR #51, finishing 12th in last years Daytona 500 and 16th in the July race at Daytona in 2018.  The Winn Dixie #52 was driven by Cody Ware and finished 39th after a mid race incident.

"We had a great time in Daytona for Speedweeks and are very appreciative of Jacob Companies and Winn Dixie for coming on board as Primary Sponsors at Daytona" said team owner Rick Ware.  "We couldn't have done it without their support and we are very excited with the direction our team is headed this season."

Both RWR teams are in Atlanta preparing for the Folds of Honor/Quick Trip 500 this Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  Harrison Rhodes finished 33rd in the RWR #51 last season at Atlanta, which was won by Kevin Harvick.

BJ Mcleod will be driving the Trick Shot Penetrating Lubricant #52 this week and Cody Ware will switch to the Jacob Companies #51 which will be a Ford Mustang.  "We are looking forward to unloading and running well after a great finish at Daytona" said BJ McLeod, "That was my best finish in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and I can't thank Rick and Lisa Ware enough for letting me drive their Cup Series car at Daytona last Sunday.  We are looking forward to building on that and having a great 2019."
