BRISTOL RECAP

The RWR teams had a mixed weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway this past weekend.  The #17 NASCAR Xfinity Series team, which was sponsored by East Carolina University, qualified 26th then shot up to 20th quickly.  Unfortunately a bad pit stop lost the positions gained and lost several laps.  The team fought hard the rest of the way but couldn't get the spots back and ended up in 28th place.  The East Carolina car did get a lot of attention and ECU will return at Richmond this weekend for another race with RWR.  Several sponsors have joined ECU on the Xfinity car for this weekends race at Richmond.

On the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series side, Gray Gaulding was the driver of the JACOB COMPANIES #51 Ford Mustang.  After starting the race and running well, the engine let go and forced the RWR #51 team to park the car early, earning a 36th place finish.

The RWR #52, which was sponsored by BELMONT CLASSIC CARS and driven by Bayley Currey, had a good run and finished the race in 31st position.  " We had a good car", said Currey, "I feel like the team is making a lot of progress and our crew chief, George Church and I get along very well.  We will give it another shot at Richmond and try to build on what we have started."

The RWR Xfinity EAST CAROLINA UNIVERSITY car will be in the Toyota Care 250 on Friday night and the JACOB COMPANIES #51 and the RWR #52 cars will be in the Toyota Owners 400 on Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway.

A SUCCESSFUL WEEKEND AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

The RWR teams left Texas Motor Speedway in good spirits after good runs Sunday in the O'Reilly Auto Parts 500.  BJ McLeod brought the #51 Jacob Companies Chevrolet home in 31st position and newcomer Bayley Currey did and awesome job piloting the #52 Trick Shot Chevrolet and bringing it home in 35th.

The #52 of Bayley Currey ran strong all day, but some pit stop problems, including a penalty for an uncontrolled tire penalty, kept the #52 team several laps down.  Currey brought the car home without a scratch and was excited for what he, and the team, learned from the mile and a half Texas Motor Speedway  "It was great coming home to my home track and having a car that was really good", said Currey, "It was nice to be here and have my friends and family here and run a good solid race."

"That was one of the most fun cars I have ever driven", said BJ McLeod after getting out of the #51 Sunday afternoon.  "That car was awesome and I really didn't want to get out of it!  The team has continued to learn these new packages and I am still learning the set ups myself, but today was incredible and I think we still learned a lot to carry us forward."

The #51 Jacob Companies team and the #52 RWR team are back in North Carolina preparing the cars for the World's Fastest Half Mile at the Bristol Motor Speedway in this Sunday's Food City 500 at 2:00 ET on FS1
