RWR TACKLES THE TRICKY TRIANGLE

The race teams of Rick Ware Racing traveled North to Long Pond, Pa this past weekend to try to tackle the track known as the "Tricky Triangle".  Pocono is a tough track as it only has 3 turns, but none of the turns are close to being the same.  This track causes most all of the teams with a tough task of setting up the car due to the different turns and long straightaways.

With driver Bayley Currey behind the wheel of the Jacob Companies #51, the Ford Mustang came home in 25th place and only one lap down to the leaders.  Bayley did a great job and had his Cup Series career highest finish.  "We had a great car", said Currey, "and I was glad to bring it home with a top 25 and without a scratch."  The week before, in the Coca Cola 600, Currey's car fell out of the race, which didn't sit well with Currey due to the fact that NASCAR does a NASCAR REMEMBERS Memorial Day event and each team has a soldiers name that paid the ultimate sacrifice on their cars.  Bayley Currey had SGT. JAMES SLAPE represented on the RWR #52 and after the race Currey posted on social media that he would run SGT. SLAPE'S name on the car and "give him the finish that he deserves."  Bayley had SGT JAMES SLAPE'S name over the passenger side door for the Pocono 400.

The RWR #52 had Steakhouse Elite and Weiss Markets as marketing partners and had veteran JJ Yeley behind the wheel.  It was great having JJ back with the RWR team as JJ and Crew Chief George Church work very well together.  Unfortunately, a break issue sent the #52 to the garage early in the event and cost the team a lot of laps.  The #52 crew fixed the brake problem and returned to the track for a 34th place finish.  "We had a good car and were excited to have a strong run for Steakhouse Elite and Weiss Markets", said Yeley, "but the brake problem set us back.  I was proud of the team for not giving up and being able to get back out on the track to finish the race."

The RWR teams head to Michigan this weekend for the FIREKEEPERS CASINO 400 which will be broadcast on FS1 Sunday at 2:00 ET.  Kyle Weatherman will be making his first MENCS start for 2019 in the JACOB COMPANIES #51 and Josh Bilicki returns to RWR to drive the RWR #52.
